people get so caught up in themselves
that they don’t recognise
another’s pain
secretly

hurt
they don’t know how to live
they don’t know why to live
this is my greatest fear
not living
i don’t know what comes next
i don’t know if there’s
heaven
or
hell
mostly, i don’t know why people
choose to be this way
the truth is
they don’t
who wants to exist without living?
maybe if we stopped
and took a real look at ourselves
we’d understand everything
